Do not stay here. Worst hotel experience my family has had in a while. Very run down. Lobby desk is basically broken ikea furniture covered by a blanket. Phones in the room don’t work. TV had to be repaired. Not enough towels. Rooms are small. Stains on bedding. Front desk attendant just sits on his phone wishing he wasn’t there and allows guests to run up and down the hallways at 2:30 am waking up the other guests and saying nothing. Date of stay July 18, 2025 Disappointing Stay at Aloft West Short Pump This hotel is not a good option despite being in a great location. The rooms feel more like college dorms than a modern hotel, and the air conditioning barely worked—it was just as hot inside as it was outside, making for a very uncomfortable night. There was also a musty odor throughout the room, possibly from water damage. I even noticed trash cans placed in the hallway, seemingly to catch dripping water from the ceiling, which was concerning. One of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. In fact I have stayed in several Alofts that were light years better than this place. From the hotel not have AC in hallways, lobby, gym, and laundry room to no pool to the tragic fact that they didn’t have either elevator working. Guests had to carry luggage up the stairs to their rooms. We were there for a Puma basketball tournament and it appears that there was a soccer tournament in town at same time. I’ve stayed at dozens of hotels, and I can confidently say this was the worst experience I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, it was clear this property was not being maintained. The lobby and hallway air conditioning weren’t working, making the entire building uncomfortably hot and humid. The elevators were also out of service, forcing guests to carry luggage up multiple flights of stairs—completely unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one operating under the Marriott name. The service at this hotel is awful. Checked in to the hotel on 7/9 at midnight. When I got to my room, I discovered the ac made a loud noise for 5 seconds, every 2 minutes. I immediately asked to switch rooms and was told they were completely full with no rooms available. After a night of no sleep, I went to the lobby in the morning, and the new staff gave me a new room and explained that the woman the night before was not authorized to do so.
