Active duty military of 17 years. I came back to Cleveland for a funeral, my flight got delayed. I called them to let them know that I wouldn’t be able to check in July 17th around 1800 and the young lady working the front desk told me it was fine she would just move my reservation to tomorrow. Aloft by Marriott Cleveland Beachwood was a nice stay overall. The room was one of the smallest hotel rooms I’ve ever stayed in, and the AC only worked from the unit itself, not the thermostat on the wall. There was a financial issue during my stay, but the staff did correct it, which I appreciated. Everyone I interacted with was very nice and helpful. **Very disappointing experience — poor billing practices and worse customer service** I stayed at the Aloft Beachwood for two nights and left extremely frustrated with the billing and customer service. First, the rate for my second night was higher than what I was quoted when I booked. That alone is unacceptable and something I am disputing. On top of that, the hotel placed $75 per night in incidental holds on my credit card — $150 total — even though my emailed receipt showed no incidental charges. I only noticed the extra ... read more
