Never again Dr Leong recommended a hysterectomy because of some minor pain due to fibroids. This seemed really major for a minor problem. I told her I was going to get a few more opinions and think about. Her response was "what are you going to do about the pain, just bite the bullet?" (!!???). I saw three other doctors and all told me that surgery was absolutely unnecessary. In the meantime Dr Leong's office called me SIX times asking when I wanted to schedule the surgery. I told them I was getting more opinions and would l... read more
STRONG Recommendation I have been seeing Dr Allison Leong for over 20 years and I strongly recommend her. She is very professional, smart, sensitive and extremely thorough, but not an alarmist. With every visit, I am seen within 15 minutes of my scheduled time. She runs a tight ship, expecting excellence of all those around her. I have total confidence in Dr Leong.
Don't bother I was looking for a topnotch gynecologist in Santa Monica and was referred to this office by my old gynecologist in BH. She only knew the name of the firm, but not the MD names specifically.
n/a I am a big fan of Dr. Leong. She has been the gynocologist I've always wanted. She's patient and understanding, and gets right to the point. I'd rather get the experience over with, anyway.
Great experience! I've recently begin seeing Dr. Leong when I began having severe cramping and terrible bleeding. We decided that a laparscpoy. hystoscopy, and a D&C were necessary. I read these reviews here, but still felt safe with her. People need to understand that every surgery has risks. The risks were clearly outlined to me. I know there were risks to my bladder and bowels. A day after surgery and I am so glad I went with her. The surgery went very well and they were able to removes ovarian growths and the endo. I ask... read more
One tumor less, and all is fine My experience with Dr. Leong was good. Dr. Leong was listed as the surgical assistant for a pelviscopy I had this month. So I looked her up online and found this site, which gave me reservations... I talked to my doctor about them and she said that she's worked with Dr. Leong for 17 years and she hasn't heard of any problems. She also said that Dr. Leong was her number one choice for an assistant and is the best around. She also lamented that people can say anything they want online anonymousl... read more
she used to be a good doctor Dr Leong was my doctor for over five years. Initially she was great...spent a lot of time asking questions and educating me on various issues...she seemed to truly care. Over time, something happened and she was less patient and less caring. She was annoyed with me once when I called and requested that I speak to her not the nurse. When I went to see her for my heavy periods, I trusted her when she said that it was normal and some people have heavy periods. I spent two years with very heavy perio... read more
Near Death experience In 2002 I was diagnosed with endometriosis, and had surgery. During surgery I could hear those in the operating room saying we are losing her, and I could see them frantically trying to save me when I had an out of my body experience. Fortunately I came back, when I was recovering they were dosing me with SO MUCH morphine. Then the doctor came to see me and admitted that they almost lost me because she punctured my Uterus and I was bleeding intensely. I could of and should of done something, but I was h... read more
Almost killed me in the 80's Perhaps time and maturity have improved Allison Leong. When I went to her for treatment of endometriosis in the 1980's, she performed a laproscopy and accidentally punctured my bladder during the procedure. She did not realize she had done this, but it was evident to both me and my husband that something was terribly wrong when my stomach became grotesquely distended, I couldn't void, and I couldn't stand without doubling over in pain. It took a couple of days before Leong or her partner took pho... read more
