Not only was everyone friendly and caring, but they were also highly competent, understood my complicated and complex case, and devised a personalized care plan. For years, I've been dismissed and received low-quality care from what is supposed to be one of the best healthcare systems out there. Here, I felt listened to and respected, and I finally have faith that I will regain my health and be taken care of.
I asked for a referral from my cardiologist to an electrophysiologist, to help me better understand how my atrial fibrillation might progress and what options I might be facing in the future. Better understanding where I'm at is important to me. I met with Dr. John Zakaib, who is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist, affiliated with Abbott Northwestern and with the Minneapolis Heart Institute.
