The most disorganized, mismanaged medical facility I've ever encountered... My kids recently went here for testing for peanut allergies. They had to do a "food challenge" where they tried eating peanut butter in gradually increasing doses to be monitored for reactions. When asked "What happens if they DO have a reaction?" We were told "if anything happens, someone will be right outside, just open the door and we'll help right away." Went to my appointment for an allergy test for penicillin and they didn't have any tests in stock. Asked me if I wanted to go to Biddeford. I declined as I already missed a half a day of work. Now I get to back again and do it all over again. I miss an appointment, I get charged. What do I get for this? Another half day off from work.
My kids have been patients of Dr. Cardona's for 12 years. They do a great job of diagnosing and then explaining how to manage conditions. Although they're a very busy office, they have worked with me to find appointment times that best meet my family's needs. I highly recommend this practice.
There were two amazing people that deserve the credit for this rating. First was Mary our nurse. She may be the best person I’ve ever worked with in health care. And on our way out the door Teoni at the front desk made the day after a grueling shot schedule feel enjoyable. She wasn’t just pleasant she was respectful engaged and funny. Hard to smile after receiving shots all morning but she made it possible.
This is my second time at the Portland location for a shellfish allergy and I cannot say enough good things about this place! The receptionist was very friend as well as the doctor’s assistant. I saw Dr. Cardona and he was so very thorough! Highly recommend this place for your allergy and asthma needs!!
