I hope I never need surgery again, but if I do there is no other place I would ever go. The care I received was amazing and I'm now back in action doing what I love. I cannot say enough good things about my experience at HSS.
I am a special education teacher and fitness instructor, always on my feet. I had been to several doctors in Orange County, NY due to severe hip pain where I'd fall. The pain was progressively worse every day. My scans were always perfect and there was "nothing wrong". I then saw Dr. Anil Ranawat at HSS who knew something was seriously wrong. There simply is no better place to be for orthopedic surgery. HSS is like "a well oiled wheel".
You arrive go to third floor get x rays then 6th taken right away. The staff are friendly and curteous. Couldn't ask for a better doctor Doctor Anil Ranawat!!!

I chose Hospital For Special Surgery, for its doctors and reputation. I discovered, even the best hospitals don't always get it right. All aspects of excellence were evident from registration to the post operative care. The nursing care was, what should be expected, caring, attentive and knowledgeable. Where the hospital fell short, was in providing and scheduling medications. Blood pressure medications were scheduled incorrectly and dosed, what at times, seemed arbitrarily. One of the best hospitals I have encountered. My father had a knee replacement surgery here. Everyone from the liaisons to the volunteers, doctors and nurses were amazing. The staff was friendly and very informative every step of the way.
From the minute you walk in the door to register until the nurse makes you comfortable in your car for the ride home, the treatment and staff dedication is first class. Knowledgeable, pleasant and concerned discribes my opinion of HSS staff.
