Have been in the Clairemont Mesa area and I rely heavily on recycling and my first time coming here was July 1, 2025 and it was a bit nerve wracking getting to this place when you have no car and take public transit because of the crossings at freeway entrances and exits but once I got there it was a great experience. Only complaint I had was they had a serious bee problem then (maybe it's fixed now) but they were everywhere and landing on the bins and even on my cart. Prices are decent. The guys taking your recycling are decent. But the tellers lack manners. They rush you through the process with no explanations, asking you to sign things without letting you understand what you're signing, and they come off as hateful

The Miramar Recycling Center (Allan Co.) is one of the best facilities of its kind. A beautifully run business with outstanding employees and staff. Life would be wonderful if organizations were run as well and as smoothly as this one.
I find Allen Co easy to work with. However, the hazardous recycling center is at a different driveway. The Allen Co recycling center takes electronics and appliances. You pay to dispose of appliances and toilets and donate scrap steel. Electrical wire without insulation nets you more money. Bring your I.D. otherwise, bottles and cans for CRV is what most people bring in.
