The Romans are famous for developing their aqueducts and plumbing, so famous that the word "plumbing" still bears their mark. The Romans used lead, which they called "plumbum," for many reasons, including their pipes. During the Middle Ages, anyone who worked with lead was a plumber, even if it didn't involve pipes.

When a drain is slow and accompanied by a "glug-glug-glug" sound as water exits the tub or a sink, it indicates a blockage somewhere along the line. If not cleared out, it will get worse.
