I had a screen replacement done on an iPhone 11 Pro Max. One of the bottom pentalobe screws was already stripped going into the repair which I pointed out. The phone was opened during the screen replacement but the screw was not replaced. When I asked about it, I was told the screw was “broken off inside” and that replacing it would have “required soldering”. Bottom pentalobe screws are mechanical fasteners, so if extraction wasn’t advisable then that should have been explained clearly instead of giving a misleading technica... read more
