A avid sewer from the time she was 12 years old, Alison took her sewing machine to collage with her simply as a way to earn extra cash. Although she started out with an eye on an art degree, she quickly realized that creating wearable 'art' was her passion. Alison graduated from Auburn University with a degree in Clothing and Textiles in 1987 and eventually found her way into the bridal world.

Our daughter bought her dress in Nashville, so we needed alterations closer to home. We were referred to Alison Ann Alterations. We were more than pleased with her patience, skills, and expertise. She not only hemmed and took it up, but she added sleeves based on our daughter’s verbal description. The dress was beautiful! We were more than pleased with the final results and cost!
Alison took my mom's 80's wedding dress and altered it so it was a little more modern for my wedding. She was able to keep the original style that I wanted but made it more flattering on me (my mom was tiny!)

Twice, Alison Anne has saved me from disaster! I recently ordered a pageant gown and paid way too much. And to make it worse, my daughter hated how it looked on her. I am an extremely petite bride. I ordered my dress online and bought the smallest size. The entire dress was too big and I was afraid that shortening the dress would require losing a lot of lace. She did a wonderful job and the dress looks made for me! I am very pleased.
I learned of Alison Anne via this website. I contacted her and emailed her pictures of my gown. She and I then met at her location where I put my dress on. After a very short time, she had all of the information she needed. Two weeks later Alison called me for my 2nd fitting. I again put my dress on, and she immediately notice a few items (nothing major), within a few minutes of waiting in the dressing room she completed the necessary adjustments. I was honored when a dear friend asked me to be one of her bridesmaids, but her religion required that we wear long dresses with sleeves. I'm sure anyone who's ever been in a similar situation knows how hard it is to find such a dress in the stores. Some bridal shops didn't have ANYTHING with sleeves, while others had very limited (and not exactly attractive) selections. Alison helped me with an emergency alteration this fall and she was great. I had purchased my dress in another state where I am currently living. It fit beautifully in the bust , but was big in the waist. The seamstress at the shop pinned it up and everything seemed good until I picked it up the day before I was to leave for Huntsville - 10 days before my wedding. I found my Watters and Watters bridal gown at a local store and they offered me a 20% discount if I purchased the sample size. I decided it would be worth the alterations cost and purchased the dress in a size 10 though I was really a size 6. By the time the wedding was approaching, I was a size 2 and the dress was entirely too big. Alison did a WONDERFUL job essentially remaking the gown to fit my frame.
