Enchanting and magical – This is breathtaking and wonderful. I took my best friend here a couple of days ago as a christmas present. We both love all things magical: We wore pixie wings to the Empire State Building, etc. So of course this place was just absolutely perfect for us. Obviously, you will be impressed if you are either a tea lover (the tea is out of this world... I had the Alice's house blend, while my friend had a phoenix blend with honey, but there are sooo many selections) or an alice fanatic or just into explo... read more

What wonderful experience – Alice's Tea Cup was so delightful. The atmosphere was warm and enchanting. The decor matched perfectly with the theme. The food was delicious and quite filling. I was amazed by how many varieties of tea they had. Alice's Tea Cup is a place everyone should visit.

Delicious and reasonably priced. But what's with the cream? – I've come here often for afternoon tea, and I appreciate that, unlike most tea rooms, the afternoon tea is offered all day long. The portions are quite large, by tea standards, the sandwiches aren't just little crustless affairs, the scones are huge, and even the p o t of tea is large. They have other offerings, such as soup and salad. I did feel that standards were slipping recently when my afternoon tea was served with Reddi-Whip style whipped cream to accompany... read more

Great tea, scones, and atmosphere – My friend and I love a traditional aftn tea and this really h it the spot. We came here for brunch on Sunday (about a 40min wait but u can easily use up the time by walking around the neighborhood) and had a Madhatter- which included 2 pots of tea, 2 kinds of sandwiches, 3 scones (YUM!), 1 choice of dessert and tea cookies for $27. We weren't rushed or cramped into a table (like we were in Tea & Sympathy). We were able to really relax in this cozy restaurant - a true pleasure in NYC. I hig... read more

Very nice intimate location for a cup of something smooth. – I think this is a plesant location to take your significant other to sit down and have a nice cup of tea, which they have loads of varieties of. Good choice of sandwhiches, cookies and cakes to go along with your drinks and thank goodness it a nice quiet spot without all the noisy talk-talk of people on their cell phones and laughing out loud every second.

Charming Center of Civility! – I fell in love with everything about Alice's Tea Cup when first there, and frequent trips back have continued to charm and delight me. The food is superb, the wait staff always on the ball and lovely, and guests I've taken to both locations agree Alice's is one of the loveliest -- and best -- restaurants where they've dined or brunched. The lentil salad is scrumptious, the warm pear salad superb. Oh, the scones are absolutely mouthwatering and almost sinful! I wish I'd have kept my granmother's... read more

too much hype! – the rave reviews this place gets is none other than mind-boggling. i visited alice's tea cup on 7/25/06, and the service that day was poor. the staff plops the food down in front of you, and it took two requests for the 80's rock music to be turned down. any restaurant can have its off day, but what excuse can be given for the dark and unimaginative decor? with a few painted murals, it's hardly the "wonderland" experience everyone raves about. the food was pretty nice, but it's on the expensive side.

My favorite restaurant! – Alice's Tea Cup has the best scones! Any chocolate chip flavored ones are excellent. Service is excellent, and having tea with scones is a delightful experience. The only negatives are the very very long waits on weekends for brunch. The chairs could be a little more comfortable, but I think they match the charming decor. It seems a lot of men shy away from the restaurant due to its extra girlyness (the waitresses have fairy wings), but that means more food for the ladies!

impressive tea list, normal food – wait is long on weekends, but thankfully they take your cell number so you can shop in the area while waiting for their call. my group of 4 got the jabberwocky which comes with scones, !!unlimited!! sandwiches, and assorted cakes and cookies. theres absolutely no need to get that set. the normal mad hatter is enough to overly satisfy. scones are warm and come with clotted cream & preserves. the fruit scones were really good, but the maple cinnamon & chocolate chip were too sweet. sandwich b... read more
