The first appointment I had with doctor Qureshi, my wife and I waited an hour for her to show up in the examining room. I remember thinking to myself that things happen, let it go. She put me on a diet consisting of two protein shakes a day and one smaller meal which should be ‘soupy’ in consistency. This was as explained by her, to bring my BMI to an acceptable weight for surgery. Also, she instructed me to start taking vitamin B. Dr Qureshi clearly has no concern over patients like my partner. My partner was treated with the utmost disdain and disrespect. The doctor drew an esophagus. My partner has a masters in biology and knows what an esophagus is. How is it acceptable for an endoscopy to show a large hiatal hernia and a rare Cameron’s ulcer, after she’s had chronic anemia for multiple years. Very interesting how she has tried to hide my partner’s experience and suppress a young woman of color who is trying to get the care she deserves and needs. Worst bedside manner
