Greetings— This is an updated review based on the resolution provided by the practice for my initial grievance—I was refunded my out-of-pocket cost for the visit. My overall experience; it being a first time patient (I was earnestly referred to her ). . . . wasn’t to the legitimate expectation for an such a routine glasses & contacts exam visit—being I’ve been going to an OD since I was a kid, now in my 40’s, I’m well aware of the standard in which I’m used to. (Review Update Below) First off, I'm new to SLO, and was calling around for a routine exam for both glasses and contacts--I was earnestly referred to Dr. Patel by an Ophthalmologist office I'd called which stated they didn't do them . . . and so . . . I called Patels office only to find out my appoint with her would be a 3 week wait; I made the appointment . . . but, I called back to see why the wait would be so long and their response was something along the lines of . . . I used to be a a patient here for years, but lately it’s been very difficult to get an appointment: either they are too busy to talk to me in the office or can’t make an appointment on the phone. But today was strange in that I walked in just after 6pm on Saturday, 7/19 and no other patients were around. I asked for an appointment and they looked at me like I was an alien. The person seemed irritated that I asked for an appointment and at that point I just left. Then I heard them laughing inside the office as I walked away. ... read more
