Dr. Ataya has been a bright light throughout what could have been a bleak diagnosis and process. I first spoke with Dr. Ataya back in early September when my pulmonologist in Tallahassee, Dr. Fernandez, suspected I have a rare lung disease called autoimmune pulmonary alveolar proteinosis (aPAP) based on my CT scan and symptoms. This is the guy you want! He is at the cutting edge of science. Read up on him. It amazing some of the new techniques he has been using. He is so smart and amazingly he is totally personable and has a great bedside manner.
It was wonderful to finally talk with a doctor that understands and that has actually heard of my disease (HHT). He is very knowledgeable and explains in details that I can understand.
