Today, like an idiot. I put a fishing hook in my thumb. I arrived to the urgent care at exactly 10AM. After a not even 15 minute wait I was brought in had obs done cleaned up and had the hook removed all before 11AM. I was back fishing at 11:45. The turn around was unbelievable. Cant forget to mention the two lovely nurses (one a student) who I felt not only went above and beyond. They showed the reason our health system is esteemed internationally. Attended the Alexandra Urgent Care centre on Saturday night with a very unwell 4 year old. We were seen instantly and with great care by a team of nurses who stabilised our child, coordinated virtual GP input and a rapid ambulance transfer to a larger hospital. To both the urgent care team, and the local paramedics (team Taggerty!), a deep and heartfelt thank you for your professionalism and quality care in our time of need.

I was seen on Sunday (6/4/25) for an infection. Triage nurse was friendly & efficient. Medical history and observations were taken, and I was seen by a Doctor about one hour later. He was also friendly and explained course of treatment thoroughly. I was more than happy with the care given. Thanks to the great staff at Alexandra District Health.
