This place literally gave me (diagnosed) PTSD. I was here from March 2020 to September 2020, around when COVID hit. I still have nightmares in my twenties about my experience here, that of which I just woke up from last night and do weekly. I left this facility about five times within the 7 months I was here, three times for the dentist, once for an eye exam, and once to go to the zoo. There's nothing therapeutic about this place. I now today get extreme tremors whenever any pseudo-conflict happens around me.
I would suggest informing Stephanie that not everyone will be familiar with the details of your program on their first call. Her demeanor came across as quite dismissive, with notably extended pauses when I asked questions, which left me feeling ignorant and uncomfortable. My son went there and was treated poorly. Came home severely underweight and terrified of baths and even being near any doctor. Do not take your child here.
Poor management and kitchen staff. Staff would fight clients and leave physical marks on them… Staff also played a huge roll in favoritism and would let certain kids go out and do things that others could not simply because they didn’t like them. I myself was suicidal and they did not care enough to let me talk to anyone let alone get me help, I was bleeding very heavily from a ruptured ovarian cyst and they wouldn’t allow me medical treatment until I passed out. It’s been a year now so I suppose I can post this. My experience at ayn changed my life, the staff were wonderful and were always there if you needed anything. They weren’t too strict either, in fact I’d say they were the perfect level of strict(if that makes since). I had a lot of connections with the staff and it was truly hard to leave that behind, knowing I wouldn’t be able to see them again at least for the however many years.
