I had total hip replacement surgery with Dr. McLawhorn in September of 2025, and I couldn't be happier with the results. Dr. McLawhorn performed a robotic assisted direct anterior approach that resulted in zero complications and minimal pain. I didn't need opiates for pain control, and I stopped the Tylenol 4 days post surgery. The cold air machine that I rented for a few weeks from Dr. McLawhorn's recovery shop was extremely effective at reducing any pain or swelling. I just had a Left Hip Replacement that was done at the HSS in Stamford by Dr. McLawhorn. It has been 7 weeks and I feel like I am back to normal. I also had a Right Hip Replacement in March of 2019 and a Left Knee Replacement in July of 2019. I was recovered from the Hip before the Knee and I was recovered from the Knee in the Spring of 2020. The staff of HSS and the entire process was great. I recommend Dr. Mclawhorn and HSS for Hip and Knee Replacements.
