I have had the same Doctor for most of my life (many decades) but when I moved to La Jolla, I had to search for a new one. I must have gone to 3 Doctors that I just did not feel comfortable with, until I found Dr. Meilan! First, it is easy to get an appointment either in person, or if it can be done as a video visit, it is really easy. Second, his staff is wonderful. Amazing doctor, he helped me out in figuring out my issue when for 6months no doctor/specialist could do anything. I would recommend him to my friends and family
Very poor experience! I visited for an annual health checkup. The doctor asked me if there are any concerns and I said 'none', I'm here just for a preventive checkup. Later, my insurance company received 2 claims - 1 for preventive checkup, another for 'New Patient Establishment Fee' of $450. I called up my insurance company and they said that the 2nd claim was not submitted as a preventive checkup as I may have stated some health concerns to the doctor, which is billed separately! Big scam !
Doctor Meilian lacked the follow through, respect and concern for my health. He never contacted me when my blood test came back and went through the results with me.My other primary care physician always listened to me and treated me with respect. They had excellent follow through and always contacted me with any concerns.
