Having the same problem with cancelling service. Sent certified mail. Numerous phone calls. Run around after run-around. My relative's name is on the contract so they've sent some information to her and other information to me. They give an option on their cancellation form to have their electrician remove equipment at $150/HR. Another option is to list new tenant contact information--I'd feel very guilty sacrificing the new owner.
This is Douglas again. Issue has been resolved by Alert Alarm with respect and courtesy. Doesn't seem like you can amend a review here but I would take off the previous one star. ** *****
Horrid company. Run as fast as you can from these people Go to anyone else. They forced us into a three year contract. We met our obligations and paid them an outrageous $60 per month on time for all three years. Now we are moving and you'd think they'd be excited about connecting our new home. Not the case I can't get them to return emails nor phone calls nor talk to anyone who will help us. It's horrible service I hope the BBB can help us
Business response:
Alert Alarm requires a contract for our services and does not force anybody into any contracts as that is the strictly your decision if you accept our contract or not as this is common practice when dealing with life and safety systems. In terms of cancellation we received your call on 9/16/2019 informing us of your intentions of canceling your service and during that call we informed you that we require written notification of such a request and you submitted that notification on the same day. We then called you on 9/18/201... read more
Contracts run for 5 years and there is no way to cancel or alter even though the hardware and software become obsolete. Also they can up the fees anytime they want during that 5 year period and you are expected to pay. Was misled by company when they bought out ******** ****** *****. Currently trying to cancel my contract per an item that states I am allowed to if I don't want to pay the increase. Sent a request certified mail, return request 30 days prior to increase just as the contract specified and they went ahead and in... read more
no stars! We experienced a problem with our upstairs sensor on the night of Sept 1 and called it in on Labor Day, Sept 3. I was told the Service Dept. would contact me on Sept 4--no call back. I called again the morning of Sept 5 and was again told I would receive a call--again no call. I will look for another company.
I am another victim of the 5 year contract and they will not allow me to cancel my service without paying for the rest of the years. I didnt read the really fine print about the 5 years, my fault. Stay away from this company !!!
