Aldo Los Altos

About this business

Aldo, located in downtown Los Altos, is a welcome alternative to huge, family-style Italian portions by serving cichetti, which are small dishes of traditional, flavorful Italian cuisine. The little portions are perfect for eating and sharing with a large group of friends, with tasty offerings ranging from zuccine e Ccarciofi (fried zucchini and artichokes) to portobello caprino (grilled portobello mushroom with goat cheese). Additionally, the restaurant serves traditional pasta and antipasti for dinner as well as panini san... read more

What a great kids menu! My daughter's go-to choices are salmon or pasta/ham/peas. And the adult menu is yummy, too. Highly recommend.

Great food – My friends brought here for lunch on birthday as I love Italian food and this one was really a great treat. The selection of pastas is really nice and I absolutely loved the tortellini dish I ordered. The price was perfect (although I didn't pay :P) and the ambiance was really, really nice. Service was excellent too. I'll definitely come back with my husband for dinner someday.

Best small plates, best wine ,great service, unpretencious – Los Altos is definetly a town off the beaten path. However, this restaurant "Aldo, Los Altos" is worth the short drive from , Los Gatos, Sunnyvale, Mountain View or Palo Alto. I love their small plates idea. Instead of ordering a big plate of one thing you can order a few small plates of a variety of things. Even better if your with a group of friends you can all order a few and share. It is so much fun and their prices are more than reasonable. They also have trad... read more

Editorial Review – Downtown eatery serves moderately priced, hearty Italian fare in a causal atmosphere. Entrees range from salads to specialty pastas.

Great neighborhood restaurant Aldo is the latest restaurant to try the downtown Los Altos venue. This one should be around for awhile - certainly we hope so. Our whole family enjoys eating at this modern Italian restaurant. The rigatoni is our favorite, but the Aldo lasagne also ranks high on our list. There is an extensive menu including many small appetizers. The wine list is reasonably priced and includes many excellent Italian and Californian wines. Alan, one of the owners, is always on hand with a wine or dinner recomme... read more

Basic Italian fare Amazing that an affluent community like Los Altos doesn't have more decent restaurants. That said, Aldo is a passable neighborhood stand-by. Good salads. Linguine with arugula and shrimp is usually fine. The kids' menu used to be a good value, it's been recently revised, so now you get less for more money. Food not always consistent, but the management tries hard and is friendly. Wait staff highly variable, some have been totally clueless, others better. The better ones try, but are often not English speak... read more
