We were in the area for a wedding and brought my daughter for an ear infection. We were frustrated to see that the PA up-coded our daughter's simple sick visit to a "moderate complexity" visit which resulted in an extra ~100$ being billed to insurance and falling onto our family. PA spent less than 5 minutes with us as this was a routine medical concern that we normally would have brought her to her pediatrician for. I am always pleased with the care I receive at Glenmont. The team is kind, knowledgeable, and efficient!
Update: This clinic lied on their billing codes, claiming that they spent 45 min of face to face time with me for a moderate concern issue which requires an actual 45 minutes of face to face time including face time with a Supervising MD. I was seen by a certified PA for maximum of 5 min and absolutely at no time did a qualified supervising MD come into the room. My experience was similar to what others have described; even though AlbanyMed’s description of the practice notes they are equipped to offer urgent care and/or a referral to another specialist within the AlbanyMed system….they are not. They essentially processed my insurance and co-pay then sent me to the “ER”. They didn’t offer a referral to their own ER hospital - they kept it very ambiguous, which likely means they assumed I’d go to Columbia Memorial. No one wants to be at urgent care on the Fourth of July, however, Dalia went above and beyond too assist an elderly patient To expedite being seen and Nicole had already been contacted by the time we arrived. If I could give more than five stars, I would thank you for your compassion. It seems to be sadly lacking in the healthcare world, but it was at the Coxsackie location of urgent care today.
