With my insurance, I have to pay out of pocket until I reach my deductible of several thousand dollars, so I need to know how much to expect to pay before going to a doctor since I don't have a fixed co-pay, but a highly variable out of pocket payment to make. My case was diagnosed as melanoma 3 years ago. I was promptly notified in a kind and caring manner by David the PA. Immediately I was referred to an excellent plastic surgeon. Within a matter of 2 weeks I was operated on and followed thru with both physicians. The care, office staff, and medical staff is beyond excellent. Their phone number is out of service and there is absolutely no other way to contact them. This is my doctor and i need an appointment.
Just had a rude experience on the phone while attempting to make a first appointment. Went something like this. Me: "Was wondering if I could make an appointment as a new patient." AD staff: "It would be end of April to be beginning of May." Me: "Um. That's OK." AD: "What kind of insurance do you have?" Me: "Aetna." AD (immediate): "We don't take Aetna." Me: "Um. Love Albany Dermatology. Office staff is the best. Drs take the time to explain things to you in “English”. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and would highly recommend it.
