Update: August 2025 Alate was sold in August 2025 to Alexandria Redevelopment Housing Authority. It is no longer an luxury active living 62+ apartment resident with quality services. The building is now affordable housing with tenants from a previous owned ARHA property that was closed down. September 2024 We moved to Alate after RVing full time for four years. Beautiful facility
The wonderful staff at Alate made the transition to a senior apartment a pleasant one for my mom. John, Sonadji, Jamar, and Jose are all warm, professional, helpful, and caring. Such a great experience in a beautiful place. Updated 6-28-25 -- Bonaventure is selling Alate to the Alexandria Housing Authority to turn it into public housing. The Alate residents --seniors who were promised "luxury" senior living when they signed their leases -- had to find out about the sale in the local newspaper. There was no transparency. Alate is a beautiful community with wonderful amenities for seniors! The location in Old Town Alexandria is also great! We love the management staffing and feel very safe in the community!
TOURED THIS COMMUNITY BACK IN November 2024 and work with Mr. Jamar he made sure to stay in contact with me as if I already lived there he never cared how many times I showed up to look at the same floor plan. So knowledgable of the community and is such a delight to work with. When it was time for me to move in back in January 2025 he .ade sure me and my son and grandkids where we'll taking care off even though he was super busy. The alate is a great place and glad I chose it tha ks to Jamar
