Commercial driver here. Guy driving one of your tractors with a trailer from 405SB onto I-5NB onto highway 599 about five minutes ago was driving in an extremely unsafe, unprofessional manner. Not observing safe following distances in order to deny signaling traffic from merging, then using the air horn in a way that constitutes road rage. I will be submitting a report with the FMCSA.
Alaska West is a good company to work for. Management and Dispatch goes out of the way to help you. If you are new with the company and have 30 years of experience in transportation. Your option doesn't matter even though it is regarding safety. Senior drivers will give you unsafe advice to hual loads . Setting you up for failure and possible accidents. While AWE is very customer oriented and professional when delivering service they are not equipped to take on new drivers there by hindering the growth of their business. A message to any applicant who wish to work at AWE: Any new drivers wishing to try their hand at oversized/heavy haul well you may want to reconsider applying because AWE has no actual training protocols or training program to properly train incoming drivers.
