I bring my dog on wednesdays for the bath special . I have always been greeted with a smiling face the normal front desk person always ask how WE (me and my dog) are doing . Front staff Crissy is rude and unprofessional. She doesn't greet you at the door or even acknowledge your presence while she's stuffing her face. You can hear dogs crying in the room and when you look in the window lights are off and they are in little cages. Took a tour and no dogs were outside playing like it claims on their website. I don't feel comfortable leaving my dogs with the staff if they are anything like the front desk staff!

We have taken our dogs to the groomer at Alamo Heights Kennel Club and Salon for many years. Miguel is simply the best dog groomer in the city of San Antonio, he is meticulous in how well the dogs have been groomed and cared for while they are at the salon. He is extremely knowledgeable too about any special issues your dog may have that would affect their grooming and takes the time to find out about your pet's well-being. We scheduled an appointment to leave our three dogs while we went on vacation based upon referrals from friends. we were made a quote, and paid the up-front fee. The dogs were well cared for, but when we picked them up, the bill was almost 200.00 more than what we had been quoted! This is clearly a "review" written by the owner or an employee of this establishment. As a past customer I can tell you that the staff has been terrible and unfriendly for years and no one seemed to care. I complained more than once and received no response and no change in the behavior of the employees. Perhaps they aren't paid enough? I don't know, but after my dog was dragged to the back while the woman holding his leash read a piece of paper, paying zero attention to what she was doing, I won't be back. Ever.

Great place to adopt a pet! – I adopted a male dachshund from the AHKC and he’s just the most wonderful dog ever! He’s such a happy and sweet hound, he got along great with my other two dogs from the very beginning. The staff at AHKC is super friendly and knowledgeable. I think they really have a gift for matching up pets and owners! The adoption process is thorough, but not overwhelming. Adopting a pet has been a great experience for me and I’d absolutely recommend AHKC. Thanks!

Great grooming and friendly new staff – I have taken my dogs for grooming to AHKC for many years and have always been more than satisfied with the excellent grooming, attentive service and patience from the groomer with my dogs who aren't always the most cooperative salon guests! The new office staff always makes sure to let me know if they have any questions or if the dogs are ready for pick-up sooner than promised. We've been customers for years of AHKC and the only place where I would entrust the grooming of my dogs to their long-time professional groomer, Miguel. He's extremely patient and meticulous even with dogs that aren't the most cooperative about standing still. I also appreciate the great new front office staff and their helpfulness at accommodating our requests for grooming appointments and any special needs. avoid – Very disappointed in this kennel. My dog was there for three weeks. When I got her home I noticed numerous scabs around her shoulders and very thin hair. It seems she was left in a harness that was too small the entire time...or maybe there was some sort of scuffle(fight). Never the less, when I called to question it, they said they had no idea(of course). I too, agree with a previous review about the lack of customer service and poor attitude at the front desk.
