I refused to be seen because I was over the age of 65 and according to the office staff I qualify for medicare. I explained that I had insurance through my spouse they stated that a bogus law required them to file with medicare first even though I don't have medicare and have other insurance. I asked to speak to billing who stated that there was another law that would force them to accept medicare from me in the future if I decided to apply for medicare in the future. I love Dr. Alamia and his staff. They have always been courteous and helpful to me in the past 5 years I have been a patient. Dr. Alamia, P.A Ernie and N.P. Andrea are the practioners and my husband, daughter and myself see each one of them. They take much more time with us than any Dr I have ever been to and listen to concerns. I believe they are very thorough and treatments have always been very accurate.
Pill Salesmen – They prescribe anti-depressants like candy here. If one anti-depressant makes you suicidal, their answer is another anti-depressant. If that anti-depressant gives you a thyroid disease, the answer is two more anti-depressants and thyroid meds. I don't know what arrangement "Dr." Alamia has with Bristol-Myers Squibb and GlaxoSmithKline but I'm sure it's lucrative.
The best clinic in Austin – Sweet Vida is the one of the best clinics that i have been to. He and his staff are kind and courtious. They always go above and beyond to help me and my family out. I've seen different faces over the years in there office but mostly the same. They all treat me like family which I love. Idk who the person below me is but I think they have the wrong clinic. Sweet Vida is Austins Best!!! I've recommended many people here and they all say the same.. no office is like that office it's one of a kind.
Rude staff and horrible patient management – My father had a series of strange symptoms but little pain. He tried to go to Dr. Alamia's office several times for a walkin. Although Dr. Alamia was out of town, he was seen by his assistant which treated it as an infection and gave him antibiotics. The symptoms persisted and worsened. When I took him back for asking for a followup appointment the front desk and all others he spoke to dismissed him, were extremely rude and ridiculed him for persisting with Medicare as his only co... read more
Sweet Vida – I have been with Dr. Alamia for over 10 years and through several health plans as my company changes. As a long-time diabetic patient, Dr Alamia always gives me plenty of time and is highly knowledgeable about the disease. The staff is always pleasant and helpful. I have referred several friends and they are also very pleased with Dr. Alamia.
