Good to see good reviews of this hospice in 4 or above. I hope this hospice is keeping out the worst rotten apples like a female volunteer coordinator always remembered as Susan Jones, known as an unhuman, nasty female bully with no brain, decency, morals or people skills, from Kindred Care Hospice in 2007 also known as Hospice Complete afterwards with Stephanie Miller as administrator, Sara Litwin as HR Director and Linda Chavies as receptionist at the time. The folks at Alabama Hospice Care of Birmingham were kind, sympathetic, caring and highly professional. I wish to commend each and every one of them for the great service they all provided me and my family. Time after time they gave tirelessly when called upon. I could not have been able to cope with my wife's dementia had they not been there. They have even reached out since her passing July 1 with grief counseling. If you are in need of Hospice services, my family and I highly recommend them. Respect.
Company was recommended because they are contracted through the VA, but the representative they had for their agency when it came to my dad was terrible. There was no communication between them and the nursing home nor myself. The nurse called me once demanding a Medicare number and when i informed them he was on medicaid, she got an attitude cut me off, said she'd find some information out and call me back. Never heard from her again. 2 weeks later my dad still hasn't started hospice and we are now going through another age... read more
Every nurse that participated in the care of my father was very professional, compassionate and caring. Even though I knew they had other patients to see, they treated him as if he were their only patient. The CNA also did a great job along with the social worker and chaplain, as well. It was a pleasure to get to know this team of caring nurses. A prior experience with another hospice company, we had a different nurse every week.
