He was rude, condescending, lacking compassion and asked questions that seemed like they were meant to provoke me. He was unprofessional and inappropriate. I was in tears halfway through the appointment and I have never had such a bad experience with a psychiatrist. He only focused on one issue and glazed over the rest.
He always asks how I am. He along with Sarah have been wonderful during the pandemic. Always making sure that we are contacted and to see if we need anything.
I haven’t experienced a panic attack since Altariq prescribed an RX, in which I immediately called & told told him, “that it made me feel very nervous & panic stricken upon taking his prescribed medication.” Against the Psychology Code of Ethic, he detrimentally advised me (“that means, that you need to take more at home” ) which atypical of that advice, without even possessing an M.D. in Psychology, of course, that escalated my symptoms. Dr. Al-Tariq suits my needs perfectly. I moved upstate from New York City, having been on a combination of medications for ten (10) years that have been fully effective in relieving my depression & chronic pain. No doctor of any specialty could figure out how to get my NYC clinical records and continue to prescribe my medications--Sullivan County doctors are still in the Dark Ages! Dr. Al-Tariq got all my records and restored me to my normal regimen easily. I am functional again!!! Bless him!!!
Very knowledgeable in all aspects of medicine and not just psychiatry, highly recommend.
HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE!!!! HIS LICENSE SHOULD BE TAKEN AWAY! Professionalism -non existent I don't understand how Orange Regional Medical Center Emergency Department has him working for them. Bedside manner- non existent Intelligence-non existent Medical school- never attended Words cannot express the utter lack of disregard he has for life. He is only in this(job) for the pay. What comes around goes around.
Without divulging too much about my personal situation, I have to say this is one of the worst Doctors I have ever come in contact with in any area of medicine. I was seen by him on an emergency basis in the hospital. He came into my room, spent exactly one minute with me, asked me insulting and leading questions about my situation and proceeded to diagnose me and prescribe extremely serious medications on absolutely NOTHING. Please do yourself and find a better doctor!!
