Cozy Steak place Cozy Steak place in the north woods. When you have been living in a cabin and just want to get out and have a nice dinner, Al Gen's is the place to go. The service is always top notch and the steaks are out of this world.
Love love love this place! Great Northwoods atmosphere and really good food. I recommend the walleye or the ribs. Finish your meal with a Brandy Alexander ice cream drink. YUM!
You have to go on Sunday. Their broasted chicken is the bomb...and all you can eat. Can't beat it! Yuuummmmm.....
Been going to al gen for years, last visit fri the 23 dec, for fish fry. First, fish fry is all u can eat (family style) and was excellent. But, my only complaint is the bar has either really cheapened up the drinks (example--NO tom & jerries, bloody mary was a joke, no icecreme drinks, no spiced rum drinks, etc) This is the holiday season --duh ! , or the bartender was having a bad day. Not worth the trip – I've eaten here twice. The first time was the Sunday night chicken special. It was okay, nothing to rave about, but okay. The second time, my husband and I both had a chicken and ribs meal. The ribs were lukewarm. Nothing was better than okay. The service also stunk, rude bartender and uncommunicative server.
Great food and friendly staff. My favorite place in Rhinelander.
