very good turkish food – it was very good experience,
Great (and unexpesive) Turkish food – This place is great and, what is even better, they have very reasonable prices, actually even on the low side. And this is not one of those places where you get what you paid for, you actually get a lot more than what you expect for the price. Great selection for appetizers, and the fish dishes are amazing! Highly recommended!
Used to be great, went WAY down hill – It is even more painful when a place you used to love, turning into garbage. I am disappointed enough to write a review to tell people not to make the same mistake. When there are hundreds of great restaurants in the city, there is absolutely no excuses. Go/order from somewhere else.
You need to go here. NOW. – I want to give this place more than 5 stars - it was absolutely off the charts! We took a chance ordering delivery to our room and boy, were our socks blown clean off! We started with the Greek Salad (grape leaves, olives, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, feta cheese, olive oil and lemon juice)and Lebni (thick home made yogurt with walnuts garlic and dill). Wow – The food here is excellent. From our experience sitting near the door, they do quite the evening take out business. I am used to the traditional pita bread, but they use a thicker, almost french tasting bread that was fine and different. The mezza dishes were excellent and the salmon and traditional turkish dishes were wonderful. ooh la la! – My sister and I totally enjoyed this meal! Somebody handed us a flyer on the street one day and we made a point of getting there the next day. The wait staff were very nice and friendly. The food was delicious! My greatest regret is that I don't live in NYC - we were just visiting. So I brought home the menu to see if I can try to create some of these Mediterranean dishes! If you haven't tried this place, ya gotta. If you have tried it, you know what I'm talking about!
Great lunch spot – I go there all the all the time- they have the best meat dishes in Midtown. Service it prompt and professional, food is amazing
Bad gyro; worse attitude – I got my gyro to go and the maitre'd was rude and had an attitude. I've eaten many a gyro in my life and this was the greasiest, blandest one I've ever eaten (the white sauce was tasteless). I can get a better gyro from a street meat cart!
Rude service, they kicked us out before we finished eating! – So my friend and I went to this place for lunch and started eating. The food was very good, but the waiters kept trying to take our plates away when we weren't finished. This was amusing until after 50 minutes there they told us that we needed to leave because there were other people waiting for the tables! HAH! We hadn't even finished eating yet. How rude. I'm never going back.
