Named for the chef and owner Akasha Richmond, this unique restaurant and bakery offers American dishes with a focus on organic and sustainable meals. As soon as you step into this restaurant, you will know that something is different. The commitment to eco-responsibility is evident in the beautiful open space as well as in the food. However, there is no sacrifice in the décor nor in the tasty dishes (with many vegetarian options) and refreshing drinks (made from organic spirits, of course). If you don't have time to s... read more

One word... Short Ribs... OK that's two words but MAN! are they good...
Two words: onion rings. Best I've ever had and consistently great.
Mediocre food, bad service – I wanted to like Akasha because I like their ideology. I wish more restaurants tried to source from local farmers for sustainable, organic food. The location is lovely and they have decorated it well; shelves of organic cookbooks line the walls and brightly colored desserts call out to you from the counter. The execution needs massive improvement. I ordered a take out lunch for six people in my office. We had the tandoori chicken salad, open faced tempeh sandwich, red quinoa bowl with tofu and th... read more
$4 oatmeal + free WiFi + quiet equals rad.
Make sure you order the onion rings. The daily soups are always vegan and delicious.
DO NOT SUPPORT AKASKA - HORRID SERVICE – I recently went to Akasha with 2 friends for dinner. I was anxious to try it as I had heard good things about the food. Once seated, it took the waitress 20 MINUTES to take our drink order, then after sitting there for 40 MORE MINUTES, our server never returned but continually passed our table. Our table was right in front of a side door to the patio where every time the door opened, a hugh 'whoosh' of cold wind came blasting in. The owner, an extremely arrogant bald cocky sob, assure... read more
Lisa, the bartender, is fantastically friendly. She's on 5 nights/week. Great customer service.
no no no.. not a good value, nor a good meal – Ok, so being a waitress for many years I have an internal checklist of what a restaurant experience should provide and Akasha was such a DISSAPOINTMENT. As avid foodies, we were looking forward to a meal there with friends. However, the hostess was snoody and the waiter was like a limp flower. Hello people!!!! If I ask for suggestions, please provide some-- do not say, 'it depends on your tastes." Clearly he was a struggling actor and was over the restaurant gig. The cocktails w... read more
