On Oct 15th 2007 I purchased a class 6 receiver hitch. I live in Alberta Canada and we use salt on our roads in the winter. I have used this hitch basically once a month since new to pull my 30' travel trailer (#8000) and my 30' enclosed snowmobile trailer (10000#). The hitch works well for smoothing out the ride. Unfortunately, the hitch experienced a catastrophic failure, the lower portion of the hitch (3/8" plate) that is welded to the 2" shank and where the air bag fastens to, sheared/broke off.
