Please do not go to the ER here for treatment of suspected COVID! Complete incompetence by the PA who was supposed to be treating my family member with multiple medical problems that had already progressed to pneumonia. They were going to be sent out with one dose of a steroid and told to go elsewhere to be tested and given albuterol. Had an RN not called and insisted on speaking to the attending and having this treated aggressively we would not have known the chest X- Ray confirmed COVID or that they even had pneumonia. I took my son to Aiken Regional. He had been sick for 2 days. The initial treatment before going into the treatment room, in the back, to wait on the doctor was great. The problem started when we got to the back, this is were I found the nurses to be very unconcern. One nurse named Lindsey came in and told us that she was bringing back another medication and didn't.
