I stopped in to look at new apple desk tops since mine had begun to slow way down and I wanted to buy locally. I have a 2012 iMac. The knowledgeable staff asked if I was using a disk or solid state drive. I learned I could increase my speed by swapping out my old disk drive for a solid state and keep using my computer for a few more years. They were able to do that in one day.
