I hardly know where to start. Affinity Care of Virginia is phenomenal. They helped us out while my husband's aunt who had dementia was living with us. My only experience with hospice care had been with my mom, and that was the worst experience imaginable, so I was dreading the day when we had to call in hospice. I wanted to say how much I appreciate the support from Affinitys Bereavement Coordinator Kathryn Henderson, without her help for the last year since my Mom passed I may not be here in some capacity. I don't know if she gets the recognition she deserves as so much of her help is the compassion and caring she radiates in a phone call, but I know she kept me moving through losing my Mom and a year later her friend of 20+ years. My dear mother has dementia and is not able to ask for pain medicine but was shouting and acting out and no one knew why. Affinity's hospice nurse immediately recognized the problem and effectively treated my mother's pain, calming her way down without making her sleepy or groggy. I think this team is GOLDEN, exceeding my expectations astronomically. I cannot say enough about how much the entire Affinity team has cared for my mom with professionalism and grace🙏 Wanda and Rosel literally helped me move my Mom out of her memory care and into the car with her belongings last March.
