The dermatologist I seen yesterday was very dismissive, insensitive, uncaring and was not very empathetic. She rushed me out of the appointment. It seemed like she did not want to help me with a problem I was very concerned about. It seems like she lacks knowledge when it comes to African American hair texture and different diagnosis. I've only been once...I don't feel like the doctor paid much heed to my concerns. However, one of the staff members named Caleb is so incredible I have to give the entire office 5 stars. He truly went above and beyond what I expect from any excellent patient encounter when I had a question. I did not even think I would get a response. But Caleb was diligent and called me when I did not expect it, and I can not stress enough how much less anxiety I will experience over the next few weeks. I have had good experiences with this derm until now. I have a skin condition and met with Wehausen multiple times back in March/April. She gave me multiple creams, none worked. She did a skin test and everything came back negative. She recommended another cream and to come back in a few months. I just went back because the condition has now spread. Awful experience trying just to get an appointment. I wasted almost 3 weeks going back & forth with these people. This office's policy is all about their bottom line. Long story short, I finally asked my pcp for a different referral, and, boom, I was seen the very next day with zero insurance issues.
