Honestly terrible company. My mother has had severe chronic pain for YEARS and they have hindered everything needed in hopes of her getting better. These underwriters with absolutely no medical experience making decisions about people’s livelihood is an absolute terrible business model. But hey, all insurance cares about is the money they get, NOT their clients so I guess it would make sense to hire inept people. Bring back care to healthcare.
I've had Aetna Better Health of Virginia for years, and they have gone from the best Medicaid provider to one of the WORST! Prior to April 1 2026, they were allowing mileage reimbursement for doctor visits to be paid at the state rate of 72 cents per mile. They changed transportation providers and promised everything was going to stay the same, payment rates, scheduling, just a different name. Well, they lied! By far the worst insurance company I’ve ever dealt with. There is a complete lack of transparency, a lack of knowledge, and a lack of empathy throughout the entire process. The preauthorization system for prescriptions is a joke, and the individuals reviewing cases clearly do not understand how to read medical records. My doctor submitted all required documentation, yet the prescription was still denied a decision that shows a total misunderstanding of the medication and the medical need behind it.
I’ve been waiting for a MasterCard ever since November 11, 2025. They claimed that they had mailed it out three times not one have reached me yet. They blame the mailman, but the mailman have delivered all the mail that happened. Been expecting us there.
This Insurance company in my opinion sucks. I had to jump through hoops for this company when I'm paying alot for NOTHING
