Do not work for the cook position. I got layed off with the reason of not needing the cook position. only to put up the same add with the same pay. I worked there for 2 years I trained 10 to 11 different cooks. ran the kitchen when the boss was sick or out for vacation. always gave them an open schedule. working anywhere from 6 day weeks to just showing up a few hours early with only a hour notice because the kitchen needed help. Four years ago we moved my mother to Seattle from her home in NH to live with and be cared for by my family. One year ago she transitioned to Callahan House after a short stay at Aegis of Shoreline. My mother suffered from dementia and was in decline for the full year. Last week she died while in hospice at Callahan House. While obviously a difficult situation my family is grateful to the staff at Callahan House for caring for her. Aegis Living at Callahan House has been an incredibly supportive environment for our mother. The staff is so personable and sincerely cares about the wellbeing of each resident, even in some of the most difficult situations. Everyone, from the direct care-givers, to the activities staff, to the concierge, to the support staff, and the management, is so attentive. Even during COVID lockdown, they have tried to keep residents and their families as connected as much as possible.
