My Mom is a resident of Aegis Callahan. She is very happy and well cared for. The staff at Aegis know all of the residents and are very good at interacting with them. There are also lots of activities to keep them engaged and active. The nursing staff is great, they have been there for a while and keep me posted about what is going on with my Mom. Do not work for the cook position. I got layed off with the reason of not needing the cook position. only to put up the same add with the same pay. I worked there for 2 years I trained 10 to 11 different cooks. ran the kitchen when the boss was sick or out for vacation. always gave them an open schedule. working anywhere from 6 day weeks to just showing up a few hours early with only a hour notice because the kitchen needed help. Four years ago we moved my mother to Seattle from her home in NH to live with and be cared for by my family. One year ago she transitioned to Callahan House after a short stay at Aegis of Shoreline. My mother suffered from dementia and was in decline for the full year. Last week she died while in hospice at Callahan House. While obviously a difficult situation my family is grateful to the staff at Callahan House for caring for her.
