My son received Outstanding Care by Ruth at the Emergency Dept this morning. She carefully listened to his concerns about how he had ruptured his Achilles Tendon. Ruth remained attentive to his needs at all times, informing him when the doctor would arrive, when X-rays would be taken, how the process would work with the Orthopedic Specialist. My son was greatly comforted by Ruth's Competency and her Professionalism. Highly recommend Adventist Health Sierra Vista, esp. the ED Dept and "Ruth'"!
The delivery staff here is rude, I wouldn't want a family member to come here again after listening to them talk to other people. Thankful that my sister in law had a successful delivery.

I am speaking as a loved one of someone who had surgery here. I rate his care 5 on everything. Visiting hours are 9-9 however prepare yourself as a visitor to pack your own food (the last thing you want to think about when your loved one is in the hospital)unless you want cold vending machine items as the cafeteria has extremely limited hours. Went there before six pm for dinner. They closed at 5:45. Went for breakfast on Saturday at 9. They are only open from 11-2. No where to get coffee at that time, and the vending machin... read more
I really hope the major trauma hospital center of SLO gets better facilities. The quality of care will be better noticed when the units are brought up to standard. The pediatric unit is tough. There’s only one private room. The other spaces are super hot, crowded, and you can hear everything that goes on around you because of a flimsy curtain separator.
