I found out I was pregnant and called to set up an appointment. I’m new to the area so I am also establishing care. The earliest I could get my first appointment was going to be when I was over 10 weeks along. Which was disappointing but fine. An hour before my appointment, that I have waited a month for now, I get notified that it is canceled and that someone will call me to reschedule. No one calls to reschedule. This is the worst place you can go for anything related to your pregnancy. During my postpartum appointment, one of the midwives was extremely superficial. She didn’t explain anything about what I could or couldn’t do after the postpartum recovery period. She told me in person that she would extend my maternity leave and that all I needed to do was send the paperwork through the AdventHealth website so it could be completed. I saw Rosie who was assisted by Wendy for my Well Woman’s visit which included a pelvic exam. I had not sought gynecologic care for several years because of trauma and medical invalidation. Seeing her today was one of the best decisions I could have ever made!
