Truth Do not go to Dr, Benson. Maybe the other vets that work there are ok, but Dr. Benson treats his employees badly (as in "you are stupid") and I've been told that he has been seen kicking a dog. (hearsay but this person has no reason to lie).
The Best When I was younger my mother and I used to bring our dogs to Dr. Benson. We loved him! Great Vet!!! When I moved to Timonium I decided to use a vet closer to my home for my 2 cats. When my little girl kitty, Brittany, became sick and lost lots of weight and presented with a myriad of other problems, it wasn't until I brought her to Dr. Benson that I was given educated information and expert care without breaking the bank!!!! If you like your animal look elsewhere I have an issue with boarding. I left my older dog there. He had hip dysplasia. He probably was pacing the whole time. When I picked him up he couldn't stand. Two technicians tried to carry him out and make him walk. The sight disgusted me. He was splayed out on the floor in the lobby and couldn't get up. Pet Owners Beware! We had the worst experience ever for spaying. Our dog was spayed and horribly. She will be terribly scarred for the duration of her life. We were very concerned when picking her up about her excitability. Even with our apprehension, no suggestions were made. She blew stitches, which now after we went to another vet, found out that even in the excited state she was in, would not have happened if the surgery was done correctly and the stitches properly sewn. Thankful! I was referred to to this hospital by an organization called "Molly's Hope". Dr. Benson was wonderful. He was direct and to the point. Alot of doctors give you the medical terms, going around in circles for money reasons. Dr. Benson helped me and my pet. I am thankful for him and his staff. My pet's surgery is scheduled for 12/10/2008 at noon. I will be back to write another review after the surgery.
Poor patient relations While the patient care is decent, we had an extremely unpleasant experience with the main vet, Dr. Benson. He has a poor bedside manner and was impatient. He claimed that we asked too many questions regarding our dog who may have to be put down. He also said "I'm not a magician." If you are looking for a caring facility, look somewhere else.
Complete ... This place is right off Reisterstown Road which makes it very close to my home, the staff here is perfect and very friendly. The office is well organized and has all the necessary immediate medical attention facilities that your pets need. The staff out here knows the right course of action to take not unnecessarily increasing your expenses.
