Over the last 20 years, Dr.Benson has cared for our various cats and our dog. He is very professional and nurturing with the animals and the rates are reasonable. Recently he repaired a CCL tear on my 11 year old golden and she's doing well. He doesn't recommend unnecessary procedures and lays out the options and costs inan objective manor. No complaints here.
What's the appropriate amount of stars for the vet who turned away my dying dog? I guess one? I lost my best friend last night. She was the best, funniest, kindest most loving dog that's ever been a dog. Yesterday she wasn't doing too well. We called the vet who said they would be open until 10pm even though it was 4th of July. A few hours later she took a turn for the worst and even though it was only 8pm once we got her to the clinic they reported they were closed. Do not go to Dr. Benson. Maybe the other vets in the practice are ok, but he treats his employees badly (as in, "you are stupid") and he has been seen kicking a dog. (hearsay but this person has no reason to lie).
I have a pregnant english bulldog who was in labor and a greenish discharge and I panic, to my surprise the staff took me in right away and dr Simpson performed an emergency c-section and I had 6 beautiful healthy puppies. They kept me informed at all times how mom and pups were doing. Thank you VCA.
Very impressed with the level of professionalism, the care given to my cat & dog and the pleasand & quick service at AVC. I just moved to the area from COlumbia, where I made the MAJOR mistake of going to a chain Vet office, VCA, which charges at least THREE (3) YES, 3 times what AVC charges me, and was not nearly as nice.
Great service, friendly, and they have always diagnosed our dogs correctly .
Do not go here!!! Left with a $195 dollar bill for some antibiotics and an x-ray for my cat that has some kind of urinary issue. They diagnosed him with a urinary tract infection without even giving him a urinalysis.As you may know, urinary tract infections can usually be lethal for cats since the bladder backs up and the kidneys can no longer remove toxins from the system. Have been using this practice since 2001 and wouldn't go anywhere else - and they are 25 miles from me. Bill Benson and his staff have cared for over 200 dogs since I first came ti them in 2001 with my parvo pup. As a member of a rescue I need a reliable and honest Vet and I would recommend them to anyone. You need to be an informed pet owner no matter where you take your pet. Ask questions.
