My daughter and her family moved to Midland and bought a home built in 1976. About half the home still had popcorn ceilings. They tested and found it contained asbestos. Started a steep learning curve regarding residential abatement. Short version: Texas doesn’t regulate residential asbestos abatement therefore most of the companies we contacted blew us off.
