Except the last time I went they wouldn't help me with ketamine. It was the only thing that vetoed me and shove off the ER sixties were so rude. Most of them were nice. Most of the time they saved me. 2 Other times they kicked me out.
For anything serious or complex that can wait a few hours, drive to UCSF, even if you have to wait longer, in agonizing pain — the highlights of our experience here were missed prescriptions, ignored requests, and watching my family member scream while the nurses spoke about how they were doing the best they they can. Awful experience and it’s because of the system and the way care is managed and coordinated.
Our recent experience in the ER with Dr. Eddie Garcia was deeply concerning. The doctor showed a lack of empathy and professionalism while treating a patient in significant pain. Rather than focusing on the patient’s distress, he made lighthearted jokes and gestures, which felt inappropriate given the severity of the situation. The patient’s underlying medical condition was not properly addressed.
