We constructed an ADU in San Jose for our au pair. The process was mostly seamless. Project manager Lisa answered emails promptly. There was a two week delay on the city inspection, but it was out of their hands. The crew was respectful, the site was clean, and the inspection delay was two weeks, which was also out of their hands. Although the final price was a little higher than our estimate, the reason was explained and we understand. Appreciated the quality too.

I work out of state and oversee the build remotely. The business used a basic budget tracker and a shared folder containing weekly photos. Without my having to go up, they took care of two small city corrections. Shortly after the final, the tenant moved in. incredibly practical configuration for a remote owner and building 2 story ADU.

ADU Builders Bay Area totally turned things around for my family. When I lost my job during the pandemic, we had trouble keeping up with the house payments for like, two years. For my elderly mother, we constructed an accessible one-bedroom ADU with this company. Wider doors and a low threshold shower were suggested by the designers, and they are more important than we anticipated. Alana, the permit manager, managed the city communications, and the crew took good care of our property. From beginning to end, it took roughly 5 months. Mom already refers to the place she moved into last week as home.
