I have been a loyal ADT customer for many years. I recently relocated to Iowa City and contacted customer service yesterday to transfer my service. I was told the monitoring system at the new home had recently been upgraded, and because of my long-term history with ADT, they would honor my current pricing and keep the existing system in place. Salesperson misrepresented or possibly lied to me on what was being delivered. I tried to cancel my subscription and at first they said no problem. I called back weeks later to unlock my alarm panel and then they said I missed the 3 business day deadline by a few hours. Someone was lying to me and they admitted that. They are more interested in sales and contracts than reasonable customer service. This is the first negative review I have ever left. They deserved it.
After paying g off the “contract” the system still continues to trigger alarm every minute at 2 am! Customer service advised us to disconnect battery and wait for 3-4 hours until backup battery is depleted!. We would never recommend this product/company.
Absolutely suck!! I have a doorbell camera that works half the time, but they want me to honor 100% of a 3 YEAR contract! Stupid Not to mention how long you have to wait on the phone to get a technician out to your home to fix or work on anything.
Be careful before signing up with these guys. When we cancelled our service they charged over $900 "contract cancellation fee". Then they billed us another full month after we cancelled and would not return it. Be wary of letting them have automatic payment access.
