I am posting regarding an unauthorized five-year contract established by ADT Security Services under my name. The contract was signed solely by my wife, who was misled by an ADT technician during a service visit. She has no legal authority to enter into binding agreements on my behalf. Last September I had emergency surgery. I was in a coma for 7 days! My memories were not there any more. I had to learn to hold a cup feed myself. I called after I got out of the hospital too pay my bill. The employee said that I needed to give my pass code or she could not process my pay my payment. I called again and was told the same time at that point I told them to cancel my service! I can’t remember the birthday’s of my grandchildren to this day! They sent my account to collections. READ REVIEWS BEFORE YOU BUY INTO ADT. If I could give this company a negative star review, I would. The equipment never fully worked reliably, the mobile app was spotty in alerts- my wife would be alerted for some things and I would be alerted for others. My biggest complaint is that when I went to cancel my service when I sold my home in March 2025, they told me it would take 30 days to cut my service- which is ridiculous because if I wasn’t a paying customer, I’m willing to bet they could cancel it a lot sooner.. they also... read more
A representative came to my house to offer a FREE, new homeowners security systems up to $3000. After we said we weren't interested multiple times because we have our own security systems, he basically said we were too broke to afford their systems, that are free right? He was rude and pushy and didn't want to take no for an answer. If you want someone's service, you cannot be rude lol. After reading all the other negative comments I'm not surprised though.
read the fine print. If you have to cancel, they will charge you 90 percent of a 3 year contract. I did not expect to want to cancel, but with issues all the time (sensor not working, app not working, long waiting times on phone and reps who are difficult to understand) It has been awful
