ADT experienced a data breach affecting my personal information and failed to notify me. They confirmed the breach but will not allow me to cancel my contract, leaving me forced to continue providing financial data despite losing trust in their security practices.
I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with this security services company. Their technician acted unprofessionally and dishonestly. He signed a contract in my name without my knowledge or consent. Later, I was charged an additional $400 that I never authorized. When I contacted customer service, they refused to take responsibility and insisted that I had signed and approved the charges, which is simply not true. Horrible. Scammed my wife into signing something that didn’t have her name on it. Change our contract term and inclusions as well as the plan without discussing with us first. Fought with them for over a year in order to get things fixed. Almost sent me to collections. Did not honor the three day ride of rescission required by the state. I can go on and on. Just don’t use This company. The technicians at this branch are not trustworthy and they will not go to bat for you.
Please don't sign a contract with ADT. They lock you into several years and you are required to pay for the monitoring if you have to cancel or move. It is very hard contract to read 11 pages long, and they lie to you about what is in the contract. The equipment is very low quality and you could purchase it elsewhere. The monitoring system is terrible with long response times.
Impossible to cancel. Been trying to cancel for over a year. Finally went through and they tell me I owe them $190 even though I have no contract and my monthly is $25/month.
