Great Care! Having read many reviews regarding Dr. Schaffer, (from multiple Web Sites) it is unfortunate such 'Review' Web Sites cannot discern the difference between an unfounded (likely fabricated) negative review of Dr. Schaffer and the true Reviews of Dr. Schaffer.. Dr. Schaffer is of the VERY BEST, when it comes to Veterinary Medicine! Dr. Schaffer and his staff are passionate about what they do, and anyone who says otherwise, I would STRONGLY question the motive of their critique. In the (nearly 50) years of my life, I... read more

Wouldn't go anywhere else I don't know WHAT Alex K is talking about below! My guess he/she is confusing this clinic with another animal care facility. I have three pets--two cats and a dog--and all of them have seen Don since kittenhood or puppyhood. My family first discovered Dr. Shaffer when my four year old daughter's hamster, Rosie, started convulsing unexpectedly. We rushed her down the street to the nearest vet, and Dr. Shaffer performed chest compressions (and everything short of mouth to mouth!) like a seasoned ER do... read more

http://www2.insiderpages.com/images/grp_fullstar.gif They won't steal your money, over-medicate or over-intervene, but will give your pet, sane, compassionate, thorough care. We had a serious situation and they handled it kindly and did the minimal yet advised us about what could be upcoming. Another vet's estimate was five times higher!

My cats sick in West Seattle where to go? Admiral Veterinary that's where. Dr. Shaffer has been my pets doctor for many years. He has reasonable prices and his care of animals is out of love and profession not just money. He has a great staff who have adopted many a 3 legged cat of old dog who knows no tricks. Located in West Seattle just across the street from Blockbuster it is a local establishment that has served our neighborhood for many years.

Best Vet Anywhere I have had pets or been responsible for the health of pets for the last 38 years. I have been using Dr. Shaffer since 1990 when I moved to Seattle. I have had cats and dogs come and go, seen them thru illness and death. But I've never seen any veterinary hospital as Dr. Shaffer's. My cats would come home traumatized after being neutered until mine went to the Admiral Veterinary Hospital. It was incredible. They were happy, alert and went right back to cat activities. My animals never even flinched when they... read more

The place to go This is the vet to go as far as I am concerned. They are very concerned for your animals, obviously love pets, and are extremely matter of fact. I have had two instances of my dog having a sick or upset stomach, and this last time was really cause for concern. They were worried they might have to refer me to an overnight clinic because his samples were cause for concern, but fortunately, that ended up not being the case. Both times I have gone, I've had to get prescription meds for him as well as bland foods ... read more

Excellent Vet My friend, sister and I all have used Admiral Veterinary for over 15 years - we all live in different parts of Seattle now and still will drive to West Seattle to use Don Shaffer and his staff for our animals. Dr. Shaffer is the best !

Great! Dr. Shaeffer is my neighborhood vet, and believe it or not, one of my dogs LOVES to visit his office. He treats my pets like they are his own (and yeah, my beagle is a sucker for anyone who gives him a treat). My visits with both dogs and kitties have ranged from running through the front door with a dog who had just been hit by a car, to routine ear cleaning. Some of Admiral Vet's prices are relatively higher than other places and with just one veterinarian sometimes it can be hard to get a last minute appointment, b... read more

Best vet anywhere! Dr. Shaffer is the best vet I have ever been to! He is really down to earth and loves all the animals. My dog is really nervous by nature, but he is so patient with her. His staff is awesome and his prices are reasonable.
