They just want to prescribe as much medication as they can. Which might be good if you just want a positive diagnosis, and have insurance pay for your stimulants/antidepressants what happened: they started me on 40mg methylphenidate (thats crazy high dose to start someone with). i didn’t like it so i said lets try therapy or something first? the nurse then tried to push SSRIs. i said no, and they simply closed my file. basically if you don’t take their drugs, they don’t want you
Mixed feelings. It was very helpful to get a diagnosis and I feel that was done accurately and in a professional way. The staff were friendly and kind as well. But the approach is outdated in my opinion. Strong focus on medication, and the advice with that is quite formulaic.
